The six-story L-shaped new building with five full stories and a recessed attic is being constructed on a conversion site in the immediate vicinity of the existing Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund administration building from the 1990s. The new building stands out clearly from the heterogeneous cityscape and presents itself as a modern, curved urban building block with a rounded corner at the intersection of Alte Bleiche and Seilerbahn.
A framed element protrudes from the façade, following the line of the building and connecting the first three upper floors. The glass façade set back within the frame appears like an oversized screen floating in front of the building. Vertical pilaster strips made of anthracite-colored expanded metal sheets create an oscillating layer. The recessed fifth floor is clad with color-coated sheet metal and visually recedes from the bright main volume. A wraparound roof terrace emphasizes the value of the floor.
The central entrance for RMV employees and customers, featuring large illuminated walls, is located at the corner of the building. The entrance hall is adjoined by the reception area with information desk and the mail room. A variable conference area extends into the depth of the property. At the rear of the ground floor is the entrance to the underground car park and access to the 56 covered bicycle parking spaces. The upper floors, each divided into 400 square metre units, contain office space that can be flexibly divided and used for a variety of purposes.
