Historic preservation meets modern office environments—the ›Fürstenhof‹ has a rich and eventful history, having undergone several transformations over time. The histories of two buildings—the “Fürstenhof” and the “Tapetenhaus Joost”—are particularly significant in this context. In addition to the architectural evolution—which includes winter gardens on the forecourt—there is an equally compelling story to be told about how the buildings’ uses have changed over time. The complex was largely demolished and reconstructed between 1990 and 1992. The office building that stands today is slated for comprehensive revitalization, preserving substantial portions of the existing structure and the listed areas.
