For whom and with whom do we create architecture? Who and what drives us to constantly seek new solutions? Architecture is a built environment that is only used and brought to life by people. People who live and work in it. But also people who develop, build, or finance our buildings. Buildings are the stage of our lives—and useful building blocks of a city.
We are architects. We design these building blocks. For and together with people. In the process of creation and use, very different characters come together. They shape every project and enrich our work enormously. Many of them are known to us. But some we never get to know, as they only come into contact with our work after we have completed it.
We want to offer all these people a platform to present their relationship to our houses and our work. Our new magazine "STOCKWERK" presents and portrays the people who bring our architecture to life and accompany us or our houses for a period of time. In large format and visually excitingly staged.
In each issue, we talk to developers, investors, planners, builders, owners, users, and tenants of buildings we have worked on or are still working on. Each of them has a story in and around our buildings.
We would like to invite you to discover these stories with us. And we hope that you find them as inspiring and interesting as we find working with you.
We hope you enjoy reading it.
Yours sincerely, Holger Meyer
