Topping-out ceremony for Munich's new residential district "Hoch der Isar"

A good two years after construction began, the topping-out ceremony for the "Hoch der Isar" residential complex on the former site of the Paulaner brewery in Munich's Au-Haidhausen district was celebrated on April 28, 2022. In cooperation with Rapp + Rapp and su und z Architekten, holger meyer architektur planned the construction of a total of 13 residential buildings for the Hamburg-based real estate and investment company Becken. holger meyer architektur designed four of the individual buildings and, as lead architect, was responsible for the implementation planning of the overall project. Completion is scheduled for the turn of the year 2022/2023.

Numerous guests accepted the invitation to the topping-out ceremony for the amorphous urban building block on Hochstraße. In addition to builder Dieter Becken, managing partner of Becken Holding, and Joachim Schmidt-Mertens, managing director of Becken Development GmbH, Clemens Baumgärtner, Minister of Labor and Economic Development for the City of Munich, among others, addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. Holger Meyer praised the excellent cooperation with his colleagues at Rapp + Rapp and su und z Architekten: "The Hoch der Isar project impressively demonstrates that architects are given sufficient freedom for individuality and independence even in a moderated collaborative process, resulting in a valuable contribution to Munich's urban design."
