Foundation stone laid for the new headquarters of the Rhine-Main Transport Association

October 18, 2022

  • Approximately 4,000 square meters of rental space
  • Handover to RMV at the end of 2023
  • Ceremony with Minister of State and Head of the State Chancellery Axel Wintermeyer, District Administrator Michael Cyriax, District Administrator Ulrich Krebs, Mayor Christian Vogt, and numerous project participants

The foundation stone was laid at the Alte Bleiche 7 construction site. Guests included Oliver Klink, CEO of Taunus Sparkasse, which is developing and constructing the building, as well as Prof. Knut Ringat, managing director and spokesperson for the RMV management board, and Dr. André Kavai, RMV managing director. Minister of State Axel Wintermeyer, Michael Cyriax, District Administrator of the Main-Taunus district, Ulrich Krebs, District Administrator of the Hochtaunus district, and Mayor Christian Vogt also took part in the celebrations.

The new building is being constructed on a 1,260-square-meter conversion site in the immediate vicinity of the existing administration building. In addition to five full floors, the building comprises a staggered attic and two basement floors. With its post-and-beam and sheet metal facade, the new RMV headquarters stands out clearly from the heterogeneous cityscape and presents itself as a modern, curved urban building block with a rounded corner at the Alte Bleiche/Seilerbahn intersection.

"From open, bright rooms to quiet workstations and communication corners, the new building takes a variety of needs into account and offers the ideal architectural conditions for a modern working environment," says RMV Managing Director Dr. André Kavai, praising the new building.

Prof. Knut Ringat is delighted that the new building will bring the entire workforce together under one roof: "After years in two buildings, this will create shorter distances, more interaction between employees, and even closer cooperation between departments. Thanks to state-of-the-art insulation and new building services, we are also aiming for lower energy consumption and an even better carbon footprint when working in the office."
