A new district is being created in Bremen's Europahafen, and a competition was held to find the best design. Finding the right scale is the guiding principle behind meyerschmitzmorkramer's concept, both in terms of urban planning and in terms of use and design. For the area at the head of a harbor basin, the design envisages an ensemble of three different yet complementary structures with a focus on residential, corporate headquarters, and office space. This will once again set a new landmark. The new harbor head siblings, the Zech House and the residential loft, frame the three-kilometer-long visual axis from the city center to the Weser River with their high points, while the office loft forms the urban prelude to the ensemble. The ground floor area will become a lively public space with restaurants and a market hall.
